What is Big Fun?

Big Fun teaches young children English – by listening, imitating and repeating – in the same way that they learn their native language. And they grow confident to speak English on their own.

Starting with basic vocabulary and language, Big Fun teaches children English in the context of eight engaging themes. They learn about math, reading and writing readiness, values and nature as they practice motor skills and have fun doing creative projects.

The audio program includes vocabulary, conversations, narration and original songs and chants to delight both your students and you.

Big Fun is a big start that progresses to any English course, including Big English.

  • 3 level course: for pre-primary school children
  • Suitable for: 3 to 5 year olds

Ready for some big ideas?

Big Fun teaches young children English — in the same way they learn their native language — by making sure they listen, imitate, repeat and begin to speak on their own. Starting with basic vocabulary and language, children learn English in the context of eight engaging themes.

They learn about math, reading and writing readiness, values and nature as they practise their motor skills and have fun doing creative projects.

Children learn English, transfer knowledge and become critical thinkers as they cycle through the same eight themes that advance in sophistication with each level.

Why choose Big Fun?

Keep young learners focused

Big Fun ensures you have a variety of video, listening, audio and play activities to keep your young learners engaged. The Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach of using the nature topics in the Amazing units challenges your students and brings the real world into the classroom. You can also use associated activities, such as bringing in real objects for children to observe, touch, smell, listen to or taste, to help them learn.

Learning English alongside their native language

Teaching children to follow directions and communicate makes learning English meaningful and fun. Songs, chants and simple conversation practice as part of the audio program helps students learn English even while they are not literate in their native language. And by the end of Level 3, students are able to read and write.

Prepare children for the world that awaits them

Illustrated scenarios, songs, chants and games help your students learn the values that are as important for children as the language skills they are learning. Critical thinking/problem solving, Creativity, Communication and Collaboration are the foundation to this 21st Century Skills approach.

Awareness and confidence lead to success

Assessment for Learning techniques use age-appropriate activities to help raise children’s awareness of what they are learning and help you assess their progress. Children record what they like best in the unit Wrap-Up, and you can use these responses to plan the end of year show. Working towards the show encourages collaboration as your students make scenery and costumes for the show.
